Jon Vinyl is on the rise, captivating many and keeping them "Addicted" to wanting more from him as he strives in the R&B genre. The Canadian singer touched down in Houston, TX, on Sunday, March 17, as he headlines his first North American tour, the Heartbreak Hill Tour, following the release of his latest album “Heartbreak Hill,” alongside opener and rising R&B singer Reggie Becton.
Keepin' ‘Em Addicted
Marking nearly three years since the release of the "C’est La Vie" singer's last musical project, which was his debut album "Lost In You" on October 1, 2021, many attendees were eager to see the star.
Vinyl opened his set with "Let This Go," the sixth track on his sophomore album, "Heartbreak Hill." The singer showcased fiery energy with dance moves and a voice to match, creating an immersive experience for the audience. Visuals were showcased in the background, with two background dancers joining him to enhance the performance.
Throughout the show, Jon continued to engage with the crowd and even likened his concert to a house party. "You ever invite people to a party, and you’re wondering if they’re going to show up? That’s how I felt about this tour," he expressed, showing his gratitude for those who attended.
A humble and gracious individual, the Toronto native never fails to cater to his loyal fans. He even met every fan, one by one, after performing for an entire hour. He voiced, “I’ll be at the merch table after the show.” Smiling from ear to ear speaking with each supporter, Vinyl shows why most can’t get enough of him.
After the show ended, I found myself reflecting on Jon's remarkable versatility and creativity as a musical artist. Constantly raising the bar, I'm eager to know what the future holds for this talented singer.

Before Jon Vinyl's performance, Reggie Becton served as the opener for the Heartbreak Hill Tour. A PG County Maryland native, the singer wowed the crowd with a simple set, gracing the stage with his silky smooth vocals, and choreography.
He performed his past singles such as “Listenin,” and also performed a variety of his new songs for his upcoming album, such as his leading single "Bad M’Fker" for “SAD BOY VOL 2,” which is set to release on Friday, March 29, succeeding his previous album “SAD BOY VOL 1,” which was released on May 5, 2023.
The “Bad M’Fker” singer also intertwined some 90s R&B that we all know and love, paying homage to the late singer, Aaliyah, as he beautifully covered the iconic “One In A Million.” Becton even treated the audience to the song that pushed him into the spotlight, 'Rm. 143,' showcasing his collaboration with the renowned R&B group, 112, and leaving the crowd swooning as he swiftly hit falsettos.
With the pairing of Reggie Becton and Jon Vinyl on a Sunday night in Houston, the resurgence of R&B is returning and they are here to stay.
